I have heard blogging being mentioned as 'online journalism' or, eve, online journal-keeping.  The ability to express ourselves online has entailed an inundation of information all over the web - with people's opinions being published everywhere.  It is good to be able to discuss, to express oneself.  It is being relevant that counts.

Change your mop, change your life

It's all about the little things that make huge differences.  I had this experience in the last few weeks, to a month. My boat stopped working, and I had serious problems with overheating. I thought the oil was heating, and that I might have been losing coolant.  I refilled both, checked the pipes.  Then I wasked someone to come and help me and he changed an impeller.  BOOM! She works like a dream. The next week, I was complaining about my mop-and-bucket system.  It's mechanical - but I wasn't cleaning properly.  Rummaging in my cupboard, I found a new replacement mop-head. I changed it - VAMOOSH! Nice, fresh floors. My bike wouldn't start.  I knew immediately - I changed a spark plug. Took a few kicks, and he roared back to life. Moral of the story: a very tiny thing can have effect on the entire ecosystem of whatever it is you're dealing with. Another visit to Sicily - with a purpose

Some time last week I was asked to join on a trip to Sicily in order to acquire a boat. This is a pretty 21-foot Solcio, a boat that is now a classic as it is no longer being manufactured, and is extremely ideal for Maltese waters because of her shape. She is still in very good nick, and we're looking forward to having her registered. Sicily was as lovely as ever, th0ugh it rained quite a lot. We also had some extremely windy spells while we were there. We stayed in San Nicola L'Arena, having driven up from Pozzallo. We rented a small house complete with a locked drive-in and back garden. Very pretty, and very Mediterranean. This served as a much-needed break for us, especially because, being unexpected, we did not have to plan beforehand. Watch this space for pictures later ...

Moving Forward - a place of gratitude

  Jump forward a few months - and here we are, looking at Christmas!  I have come forward in leaps and bounds, and it's not been easy. In one of my development sessions, which I try to attend from time to time to keep on track,  I came up with the following: Inner peace and gratitude are  crucial to a wholesome recovery. Every morning, say 3 affirmations for each of: family, career, personal life; and then practice gratitude (3 things you are grateful for). In the evening, do the gratitude bit again. Watch your life change. This morning, I logged back on to my DayOne App (Web Version) - or you can download it from here ! - to continue my journey in logging my progress. Thanks for the idea, Mark Manson !  Through reading his book and following his online articles and podcasts, I found a way to journal my progress and to be able to look back - just to see how far I've come!
